Basic Duties
• Repair Collision Damage: You'll be the hands-on hero, using your skills to fix dents, scratches, and other damage caused by accidents. This includes straightening bent panels, welding cracks, and replacing severely damaged parts.
• Prepare Vehicles for Repair: Getting the body ready for its makeover is key! You'll disassemble parts, remove dents and dings, and clean and prep surfaces for painting.
• Maintain a Safe Work Environment: Safety first! You'll follow all safety protocols, use personal protective equipment, and keep your workspace clean and organized.
• Work with Estimates: You'll play a key role by assessing damage and creating accurate repair estimates for customers.

Basic Skillset
• Metalworking: You'll need a strong understanding of how to handle and manipulate different metals used in car bodies. This includes hammering, straightening, welding, and cutting various metals: e.g., steel, aluminum.
• Auto Body Knowledge: Familiarity with different vehicle structures and materials is crucial. You should be able to identify parts, understand how they function together, and know the proper repair techniques for various types of damage.
• Attention to Detail: A keen eye is essential for spotting imperfections and ensuring repairs are flawless. This includes matching paint colors, aligning body panels perfectly, and achieving a smooth, factory-like finish.
• Tool Proficiency: Ability to use a variety of hand and power tools safely and effectively. This includes hammers, saws, drills, sanders, and specialized body shop equipment like welding torches and spray guns.
• Safety Awareness: Working in a body shop involves potential hazards like fumes, dust, and sharp objects. Following safety protocols, using personal protective equipment (PPE), and maintaining a clean work environment are essential.
Paint Technician

Basic Duties
Prepare Vehicle Surfaces: You'll prepare vehicles for refinishing by cleaning, sanding, masking, feathering edges, and applying primers to ensure surfaces are ready for a high-quality paint finish.
Apply Automotive Paint: You'll mix and match paint colors, apply primers, basecoats, and clearcoats using spray equipment, and ensure a smooth, factory-quality finish that meets manufacturer and customer expectations.
Inspect and Finish Repairs: Quality matters! You'll inspect painted surfaces for defects such as runs, dust, or color variations, perform buffing and polishing as needed, and ensure the completed repair meets shop quality standards.
Maintain Equipment and Work Area: You'll clean and maintain spray guns, paint booths, mixing equipment, and other tools while keeping the paint shop organized and compliant with safety and environmental regulations.
Work as Part of the Repair Team: Teamwork makes the dream work! You'll collaborate with body technicians, estimators, and other shop staff to ensure vehicles move efficiently through the repair process and are completed on time with exceptional quality.

Paint Application & Color Matching: Familiarity with automotive paint systems and refinishing techniques is essential. You should be able to accurately mix and match paint colors, apply primers, basecoats, and clearcoats, and achieve a smooth, factory-quality finish using spray equipment.
Attention to Detail: A keen eye is critical for identifying imperfections and delivering high-quality results. This includes ensuring accurate color matching, maintaining consistent paint coverage, eliminating defects such as runs or orange peel, and producing a polished final appearance.
Equipment & Tool Proficiency: Ability to safely and effectively operate paint shop tools and equipment, including spray guns, sanding equipment, polishers, paint mixing systems, and paint booths. Proper maintenance and cleaning of equipment are essential to ensure consistent performance and finish quality.
Safety Awareness: Working in an automotive paint environment involves exposure to chemicals, fumes, and specialized equipment.
